With an ever-growing number of students, there is a need to make sure that everyone is aware of the Monart policies. Your cooperation and support of the Monart Drawing School thus far has been truly appreciated. Please take a moment, and read through our policies. Thank you.

Tuition & Enrollment

  • Classes meet once a week and are ongoing from month to month. Tuition will be prorated for mid-month enrollment. You may enroll at any time. Class size is limited; enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • At the time of enrollment a completed registration form and payment for the first month of tuition is needed to hold a student's place in class. The annual registration fee of $20/family must also be included with payment.

  • Monthly tuition will be determined by the number of classes each month. Monthly tuition rates are posted each month by the tuition box in each school. Please place monthly payments in the tuition box. If there is no tuition box, the teacher will know the tuition for the month and will take the tuition payment.

  • Tuition is due the first class of each month. Tuition will be considered late after the 15th of each month. A $10 late fee will be charged.

  • Once you enroll, your space is held for you from month to month unless we receive notice of withdrawal at least two weeks in advance. Students who do not give prior notification will be liable for the next month's tuition. Please be courteous of other students that may be waiting to enroll, as well as the teacher's planning and preparation for your student.

  • Missed classes cannot be deducted from tuition and there are no make-ups.

The Monart Classroom

  • The Monart environment is a quiet, safe place where students are able to create in a non-competitive atmosphere. Please be courteous of this and do not enter the classroom until the class is dismissed. The teacher will open the door when class is completed.

  • Please be prompt in picking up and dropping off your student. It is important that your child not miss the warm-up time and project explanation at the beginning of each class.

  • If you have any concerns or need to discuss a situation with a teacher, please make arrangements with that teacher to schedule a time to do so. There is little time between classes and it is difficult for a teacher to discuss any concerns at length during that time.

  • Food and drink are not allowed in the classroom. Water bottles are permitted but must be kept on the floor beneath drawing tables.

  • Please help your child to remember any coats, hats, etc. that they may have worn to class.

  • Please do not allow your child to bring toys, handheld games, etc. to class.

  • Dress your child appropriately for an art class. We are using permanent markers, paints and pastels that can ruin good clothing.

  • Be courteous of other businesses in the building, especially when waiting for class to be dismissed. In Noblesville, students or siblings are not allowed to roam the halls and floors of the Victorian House.

  • Monart reserves the right to refuse enrollment as necessary. Disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.

Annual Art Show, Artwork, & Art Supplies

  • Each year we will have an art show held in late spring/summer. This is the culmination of all the student's hard work during the year and is open to the community and guests of the students. Every student is encouraged to participate. Each student is given a name badge as a participating artist. Refreshments will be served. As Monart does not believe in competition among students, the artwork is not judged in any way. The artwork is matted, accompanied by a photograph of the artist. There is a $25 fee charged: all artwork and matting is returned to the artist after the show.

  • Many times we will ask a student if we may make a color copy of their artwork. We like to have at least one copy of each student's artwork and a few copies of each subject taught. We will also use students' artwork in brochures and displays. Please understand that artwork is not selected because we think it is better. Artwork is chosen based on subject, size, proportion and what reproduces well for printing. The original artwork is returned to the student. Please let us know if you have any objections.

  • If at all possible, parents of students in the 4-5 and 6-8 year old classes are encouraged to purchase a set of Prismacolor or Sharpie (various colors) markers to keep at home. There is not always enough time during class to complete the coloring of a drawing. Having the markers at home allows the students to finish the artwork in a relaxed, unhurried atmosphere, rather than rushing to finish it in class and to undo all the hard work they put into the drawing. ( These markers are permanent, so please be sure to place cardboard underneath the drawing to protect the surface underneath.)
